Have you ever tried Bromelain to fight the pain in the hip? I have avoided replacement so far since 15 years, taking it at best 20 minutes before breakfast every day. In case of acute pain, twice a day (morning and evening, until the acute inflammation is better and the pain is diminishing). Get better soon!

Cuba has been under vicious US sanctions since 1959, the CIA tried to murder Fidel Castro about 60 times, and still they managed to send doctors over the whole world and feed and house and educate people. Cuba (and Venezuela) still have a higher literacy rate than the US.
The USSR helped immensely and when it was killed (see Michael Parenti) by the West it spent the 90s getting run over by a truck but has recovered, so it should be helping Cuba, but the US is just too scary for everyone now it appears. Now the US has piled on and the only one sending aid is Mexico. Yes, by all means, Carney needs to step up to the plate and should be pressured to do so. I doubt he will, he's the same class as the US ruling class (goldman sachs after all). But maybe.
